Inside site settings, the second tab will give you the option to add either tag

For adding other scripts or page-specific scripts follow these instructions:

Adding tags to a page in The.com Sites is simple with the "Script" Element

NOTE: Everywhere in the scripts you see YOURCODE, you must change it to the custom numbers Google gives you aka:

  • Take this piece out: UA-YOURCODE-1
  • And replace it with your custom Tracking ID

Here is the process:

  • Go to your analytics company (in this case we'll use Google Analytics) and find your tracking scripts. They will look something like this:

You will notice there are two distinct scripts you'll need

These are two different types of scripts and we will need to put them into two script elements in the head of your page.

Enter into the page you want to add the tags to

Click on HEAD to enter the head of the page

Scroll to the next empty cell and click + element (don't nest this element)

Then we are going to take the src from the first script (the bolded part)

Click edit on the script element and let's take that src and paste it into the src cell of our script element (if it says async, make sure to click the no asyc and change it to asyc)

Next, we'll add the second script. Create another script element below the one we just added (not nested)

Since the second script doesn't have a src, we are going to add it to the text cell (the bold text)

  • <script> window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || []; function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}gtag('js', new Date());gtag('config', 'UA-YOURCODE-1');</script>
  • window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || []; function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}gtag('js', new Date());gtag('config', 'UA-YOURCODE-1');

So we copy and past the text above into the text cell

Now you have added your Google anaylitcs tracking code!
