Intro
The.com Sites takes the frustration out of custom domains. We've partnered with Entri, which handles adding the two required CNAME records to your DNS settings.
Steps to Add a Domain
1) Access Site Settings
Click the arrow next to the Edit Site button to open the stite drop-up menu. Then click on the Settings option.
This will open a site settings modal. The default option in this modal is to connect a domain.
2) Type in your Domain
Type in the domain you want to connect into the input field. Make sure to always add www.
or other subdomains in front of your URL.
Then, click Connect Domain. It will take a few seconds to validate your domain.
3) Authorize Entri to update your DNS Settings
Once Entri has identified your Domain Registrar, it will prompt you to confirm that you want Entri to configure your DNS settings. Click Authorize. Follow the prompts, as they will depend on which Registrar your domain is with.
4) That's it!
If you want to double check, you can go to your DNS settings and confirm that the two CNAME records were added. Your domain should be mapped to your The.com site within the hour, though sometimes it can take up to 24 hours.
5) Take it Further (Optional)
Once your domain is connected, you can also forward your root domain so that users can access your site without having to explicitly type in "www." at the beginning of your URL. This is done through your Domain Registrar, so the steps may vary. Learn how to forward your root domain here.
Troubleshooting
Registrars
Each registrar is different, so here are some resources to help view DNS records to a few popular registrars:
SSL Certification Fail
Per AWS, the SSL certificate will expire causing your domain connection to fail if you do not add the CNAME records to your DNS settings within 72 hours.
CAA Records with Cloudflare
If you are using Cloudflare and your domain connection failed, please add this CAA record on your DNS records and try again.

Cloudflare Proxies
If you are using Cloudflare, you may need to disable the proxy and set it to DNS only. Additionally, you may need to leave the proxy running on the dummy A record (the URL generated by The.com). This will allows a page rule to trigger the root domain.
